The K-Kids Meeting on October 20, 2016: The K-Kids Meeting on October 20th was filled with many good conversations and action. First, the K-Kids reported out how their school based activities were going: The students at the Breakfast time have been a great help to the kitchen crew. Students have been working to support the young students eating in the cafeteria. The Kitchen CREW loves the K-Kids Helpers!!! The students reading at the YMCA had a great first trip to the Y. They read to the 3 year olds and 4 year olds. They left the school at 8:30 and returned around 9 am. The K-Kids store will start up next week. Mrs. Clark will be the staff helper with this project. Next, we were visited by one of the Kiwanis Club Members. Her name is Mary Skaggs and she delivered the K-Kids pins, certificates and other things! She announced our Kiwanis Club representative will be David Bagley!!! Committees met and worked on their projects: Unicef---October Food Drive---November Animal Orphanage drive---March Parent Appreciation Day: June 1st Next meeting we will distribute the Unicef boxes and put the Unicef buckets out in the communities We will also discuss the Food Drive and how to do this project.

K-Kids Meeting October 13, 2016

K-kids Meeting October 13, 2016 The students welcomed Renee St. Peter to the group today to talk about Read Aloud time at YMCA. Mrs. St. Peter organizes this activity for our students and with the YMCA. We also read to the Pre-K students here at OTES. Mrs. St. Peter handed out a permission slip for students to bring home for parent permission to participate in the YMCA read aloud program. Groups and Committees were formed for the following activities for the 2016-2017 school year: Trick or Treat for Unicef (Chair, Briannah Tardiff) Food Drive (Ethan Roach) Animal Shelter Drive (Ian Dutra) Parent Appreciation Day (Robbie Murray) Next meeting will be held on October 20 and our focus will be on Trick or Treat for Unicef

K-Kids Weekly Meeting October 5, 2016

Students met on Thursday, October 5, 2016 28 members attended this week's meeting. The students voted on the activities they want to support and sponsor this school year. In small groups, the students had a great discussion first about what they wanted to support and why. Students were able to vote and votes were counted. The final K-Kids decisions for the school year: Parent Appreciation Day Trick or Treat For Unicef Replanting the School Garden Animal Orphanage Drive Students will be joining a committee for each of these activities at next week's meeting. Student assignments for in school activities: Breakfast support, School Store, and Pre-K read alouds were shared. Next meeting, October 14 7:45 am

Weekly Meeting for K-Kids, September 29th

It was our first meeting of our K-Kids program at OTES. We were pleased to have so many kids sign up and be part of making our school even better. The officers for this school year: Ethan Roach, President Ian Dutra, Vice President Robbie Murray, Secretary Briannah Tardiff, Tres. The meeting was opened by our President, Ethan Roach The K-Kids Pledge was performed. The Treasurer, Bri Tardiff, gave her report. The K-Kids ended the school year with $881.06. At our next meeting, we will brainstorm ideas spend this money to improve our school. Ongoing K-Kids Project were explained to our members. Three projects we take care of in our school; HELP WITH BREAKFAST, SCHOOL STORE, and READ ALOUDS FOR PRE-K. Students signed up for these activities at this meeting. Mrs. Clark will be helping with the school store this school year. The group brainstormed other activities to vote on at next week's meeting: Recycling books and toys project Trash Pick up on playground Trick or Treat for Unicef Town Park Pick up Replant Flowers in the school garden Projects to support a cause Campaign for student Kindness Food Drive School Supplies Animal Shelter Drive HONK for Something Project Next meeting: OCtober 6th at 7:45 am in the K-2 Music Room

K-Kids weekly meeting minutes 5/11/15

The K-Kids will be having an ice cream party to celebrate all the accomplishments of the school year.

The Elections for next year's K-Kids will be on Monday, May 18th!!!
